The Institute is proposing to set up a number of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) in the next month or so. We are now in a position to start two:

  • International SIG We currently have members on 4 different continents, Asia, Australasia, Europe, and North America. We hope to be able circulate and discuss issues which will be of interest to members on those continents but we need our international members to contribute.
  • Historical SIG A number of us believe we should not lose sight of history and over the coming months we will be reminding members of a number of significant disasters. Written by members initially, we shall commence with the Aberfan Disaster of 1966, followed by the Clapham Train Crash of 1988. We would welcome further contributions both from our United Kingdom and international members.

Any members interested in being part of these two SIGs or requiring further details should contact Acting/Vice-Chair Tony Moore at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
